an Inner Sanctum mystery

On a sparsely populated narrow island lives Geraldine Reeves, widow of composer David Reeves. A few hundred yards away stands the charred remains of the house her husband died in. But two years later, Geraldine still hears her husband's compositions and his dogs howling. She then receives a mysterious phone call, with a voice that sounds like David’s. Is he haunting her from beyond the grave?

Lia Froese

Lia Froese has been involved in theatre for over 40 years. During this time, she has worked both on stage and backstage with various theatre companies in Vancouver and Kelowna. This is her first time as a voice actor as well as performing in a radio show format. She is very grateful and excited to be part of this project.

James Long

James Long has recently become active in the Kelowna theatre community again. His recent productions are The Walk and Dracula the Bloody Truth. James has always had a fascination with Radio shows and is very excited to be involved in such a unique project. He hopes to see artists in Kelowna continuing to explore different mediums. If you enjoy this podcast half as much as James enjoyed making it, you are in for a ride.

Alexander Delaney

Alexander is a passionate member of the theatre community and has been searching high and low for a chance to experiment in the voice acting studios for a long time. His past career of onstage acting and backstage shenanigans has given him the inspiration to merge the two into one fantastic experience for everyone. The Voice on the Wire has been a fantastic project for him to work with and he looks forward to all the new content that is coming from the Virago Collective and any other artists who make the plunge into theatre.

Sarah Foss

Sarah Foss has been involved in theatre in Kelowna for a number of years but she is excited to be working with The Virago Collective for the very first time.  This is also her first foray into the fascinating world of radio plays and voice acting. Her past theatre credits include Pride and Prejudice and Vanity Fair with The Red Dot Players and Twelfth Night and A Midsummer Night’s Dream with Shakespeare Kelowna Theatre Society.  You can look for her next in New Vintage Theatre’s future production of Duncan Macmillan’s Lungs.

Peter Church

As a long-time fan of classic radio drama, Peter is excited to be joining The Virago Collective for the resurrection of these wonderful radio thriller-dillers.

As a playwright, his works include a full-length radio adaptation of Theodore Sturgeon’s The Other Celia, an original serial parody called I Smell a Mystery!, and audio adaptations of new Canadian stories like Black Ice and Hockey, The Ghosts of Mariposa, and The Wooden Angel. His full-length stage adaptations of Frankenstein, It’s a Wonderful Life and A Christmas Carol, premiered in Vancouver at Pacific Theatre, and have since been produced in Chicago, Detroit and the Yukon.

As an actor, he has performed Romeo and Juliet more than a thousand times with Toronto's Classical Theatre Project, and is excited to be performing the role of Salieri in Kelowna Actors Studio's upcoming production of Amadeus. He is co-creator of the Welcome to Mutant County podcast, and moved to Kelowna last year where he lives with his wife, Kimberley, and a bunny named Lord Montague.

DeAnna MacArthur

DeAnna is so excited to be involved in her first project, and hopefully not her last, with the incredible folks at The Virago Collective. DeAnna loves to be involved in all aspects of theatre from performance, to production, to promotion and organizing. She is the founder of ArtStream Okanagan and volunteers with many organizations. Catch her next in 2021 in Amadeus (Kelowna Actors Studio) or Cabaret (New Vintage Theatre).

Emily MacArthur

Emily grew up in Vernon, and has a BFA in theatre from the University of Victoria. After living in Victoria, Vancouver, Montreal, Calgary, and (very briefly) Copenhagen, Emily returned to the Okanagan to practice law. In her spare time, she loves getting involved in the local musical and theatrical communities as much as possible. Most recently, her past roles include Rita in White Christmas, Elizabeth in Young Frankenstein, Cha in Three Little Pigs, Mrs. Potts in Beauty and the Beast, and Smee/Mrs. Darling in Peter Pan, all with the Kelowna Actors Studio. This is Emily's first outing with the Virago Collective, and she is excited to be working with so many talented artists!
