THE TEAM

Peter Church
as BEN
Peter is a vocational actor, playwright, and educator. During his 20-year acting career, he logged over a thousand performances with Toronto's Classical Theatre Project, in classics such as Romeo & Juliet, Hamlet, and Macbeth. As a playwright, his adaptations of Frankenstein, It’s a Wonderful Life, and A Christmas Carol, have been produced in Chicago, Detroit, Vancouver, and Whitehorse.
This is Peter’s first in-person performance with The Virago Collective, having previously been heard as the ghoulish radio host of their online pandemic offering, Inner Sanctum Mysteries. Other recent highlights include Salieri in Amadeus (KAS), Too Much Light Makes the Baby Go Blind (Fred Skeleton Theatre Company), and his staged radio adaptation of George Orwell’s Animal Farm at the Kelowna Fringe Festival (2021).
Up next, he’ll be in Improv Against Humanity with Stephen Keppler at the Kelowna Fringe (Aug. 31 - Sept. 2) and appearing as Walter Hobbs in New Vintage Theatre’s Elf: The Musical.
Emily MacArthur
as MIRCEA
Emily is a lawyer by day, but obtained a BFA in theatre at UVic before heading off to law school and loves getting back to her performing roots.
Since moving back to Vernon several years ago, she has performed in a number of shows throughout the Okanagan. Recent selected credits include Kelowna Actors Studio: Young Frankenstein (Elizabeth), Beauty and the Beast (Mrs. Potts), Into the Woods (Witch), Dirty Rotten Scoundrels (Muriel), and Sound of Music (Elsa); Powerhouse Theatre: Miracle on 34th Street (Doris), The Best Christmas Pageant Ever (Grace Bradley); and Big Apple Productions: Cabaret (Sally).
Emily is delighted to have the opportunity to work with such a talented team on this poignant, poetic, dreamlike piece of Canadian theatre.

Kim Fournier
STAGE MANAGER
Kim has been involved in the Kelowna theatre scene for nearly two decades, performing, directing, producing, stage managing, and crewing with multiple companies. This is her first time working with The Virago Collective and she is thrilled to be part of such a moving piece of theatre with such talented people, both on and off the stage.
Many thanks to DeAnna for taking her on this journey and for all the feels and laughs along the way. Thanks also to Angela, Elana, Emily, and Peter for being such wonderful humans and to her hubby who is unfailing in his support of her passion. Enjoy the show!
DeAnna MacArthur
DIRECTOR / CO PRODUCER
This is DeAnna’s first time directing a full length production, having previously dipped her toes into the directing role for Fringe festival productions in 2021 (Animal Farm by Peter Church) and 2022 (Re: Collection by DeAnna MacArthur and Kurt Werner). She is elated at the opportunity to direct a truly inspiring script, with an amazing and supportive team.
DeAnna is, more often, found onstage and was recently seen in Cabaret (NVT), The Sound of Music (KAS) and The Mousetrap (NVT). Catch her next in New Vintage Theatre’s Elf in December. Now, enjoy a glass of wine and the beautiful Okanagan views, as you immerse yourself in the poetic language of Maureen Hunter and the mysterious world of Atlantis.
